Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday and weekend spent with family and friends. We spent our long weekend relaxing a bit and made it outside for 2 snowshoe hikes! I keep wanting to begin snowshoe running this year, but every time we go out for a snowshoe hike it reminds how difficult it is (and I can only imagine how harder running on them would be). We also got to see the newest Star Wars on Friday and it was absolutely amazing! Have you seen it yet? If not, GO! Also Friday included some nice hills for my 8 mile run.
We also received something like 35 inches of snow in the past 72 hours, so it was a lot of treadmill running for me. I managed to get in 6 miles on Saturday & Sunday on the treadmill and also 20 minutes of strength training work on Sunday/ Christmas Eve (after teaching skiing all day).
On Christmas Day with our gym closed and not really wanting to travel into town, (where the roads will be clearer)- we live ~30 minutes outside, I took my 6 mile run outside and it was fun....until I got to some roads that weren't plowed and had around 5+ inches of snow on them! It was more like slipping/sliding on them than actually running, but pretty fun regardless.
We got spoiled again this year and received many gifts from family afar, but one of my favorites was this engraved necklace from Erica Sara Designs.
I hope you had a wonderful Holiday and good luck to those heading back to work today! It's only four days (well for most of us- I have to teach skiing Saturday-Monday, so this begins a 10-day work streak for me..), so you got this!
Favorite Holiday tradition? we try to get outside every year and do something fun!
