HUMPDAY! I hope you're having a great week and have some fun weekend plans to look forward to : ) We're heading to Ft. Collins on Sunday (one of the skaters I coach is taking a test there), but we *may* head down Saturday and try to camp along the Poudre River. I'm just really looking forward to shopping at Trader Joe's (well, also excited to potentially go car camping, but let's be honest --> Joe Joe's & Pickle-flavored popcorn is enough to be excited about) and TJ Maxx. What do you most look forward to when out in the "city"? Ha. I guess this question is more for those who currently don't live close to these luxuries!
ANYWAYS. Enough with my tangent. How's your training going?!? Anyone racing this next weekend? Don't forget- I'll have TWO race recaps for you tomorrow & Friday!
Monday, 7/9: 1.5 mi warm-up @ 9:50 pace / 12 x 400m 1:43-1:46 (actual: 1:41/ 1:41/ 1:42/ 1:43/ 1:42/ 1:43/ 1:44/ 1:43/ 1:46/ 1:40/ 1:41) with 400R / 1.5 mi cool-down @ 10:32 min/mi. Tried out a track that was closer to my house and had the whole thing to myself! It was really nice to get it done and then go home to get ready for work (rather than being at the gym to get ready). Really proud of my splits too! 60 minute Barre class during lunch
Tuesday, 7/10: 10 minutes of recovery yoga/ 10 minutes of meditation/ 30 minutes on the elliptical catching up on my *favorite* summer show SYTYCD!
Wednesday, 7/11: 30 minutes of strength/ 3.01 mi run @ 9:43 min/mi. This was the week of beautiful sunrises!
Thursday, 7/12: 20 minutes of spinning / 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill @ 5% incline
Friday, 7/13: 2.02 easy miles @ 9:47 min/mi. Another beautiful sunrise morning along the lake trail!
Saturday, 7/14: RACE DAY! 30.8 miles / 5, 885' UP/ 14:31 min/mi
Sunday, 7/15: REST DAY/ 30 minutes of recovery yoga & meditation
WEEKLY TOTAL: 44.83 miles/ 5,885' up
Favorite thing at Trader Joe's? --> Joe Joe's & UNEXPECTED CHEDDAR!
TJ Maxx or Marshalls?!? --> TJ Maxx hands down.
Car-camping or backpacking? --> hmmm probably car camping just because I'm pretty confident we won't get eaten by a bear or mountain lion (unlike backpacking) ; )
